At the heart of Challenge Applications is its founder, visionary and president: Dan Ashe.
He lives life intentionally, sees his business as purpose-driven and surrounds himself with a team of dedicated professionals with a shared vision of building better organizations, one team at a time.
Dan is the founder and president of Challenge Applications and has prior experience in the military, education and non-profit sectors. His passion is centered on “building better teams” using experiential strategies learned first-hand from multiple Outward Bound expeditions, small unit leadership and successful business partnerships both regionally and nationally.
Dan Dan received the 2010 Mid-Atlantic Association for Experiential Education Phil Costello Award for Entrepreneurship and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal in 1991 while serving during Operation Desert Storm. He has worked as director of outdoor education, taught in four schools, both public and private, served as a battalion training officer and managed multiple challenge course programs. He holds a master’s degree in teaching from The Evergreen State College and bachelors in psychology from Salisbury University.
In addition to leading the Challenge Applications team, he is involved in various projects. He oversees practitioner training for Northwest Teambuilding, serves as an eLearning committee member for ACCT University and facilitates faith-based programs across various groups.
In his spare time, Dan enjoys hiking throughout the Pacific Northwest with his wife Ann and son Noah.
